Zone Catcher

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 5 September 2026

The short version: Zone Catcher has no accounts and no sign-up. Your reminders live on your iPhone and, if iCloud is on, in your own private iCloud. We don't run a server that gets a copy of them, we don't show ads, and we don't track you.

Who we are

Zone Catcher is a location-based reminder app for iPhone. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@zonecatcher.app. Our website is zonecatcher.app.

No accounts

You don't create an account to use Zone Catcher, and we don't ask for your name, email or phone number in the app. There is no developer-operated account to sign in to, and so there is no account to delete.

Reminders and locations

The app stores the reminders you create (titles, selected locations, zone radii, completion state and creation dates) on your device. When iCloud is available for the app, these records sync through a private CloudKit database tied to your Apple Account. We cannot read that database.

Your current location is used to show distances and pick nearby zones. With "Always" location permission, iOS can monitor your zones and deliver significant location changes while the app is closed. The app does not create or upload a history of your movements. Arriving in a zone triggers a local notification on your device.

Apple services

Maps, place search and address lookups use Apple Maps, so search text, map requests and the coordinates used for lookups may be sent to Apple. iCloud processes synced reminders and their locations. In-app purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit; the app only checks whether you've unlocked the full version, and we never receive your payment details.

Apple's handling of this information is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. You control iCloud and location access in iOS Settings.

Diagnostics and advertising

This version sends no diagnostics to Sentry or any other developer-operated analytics service. There are no ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites. Apple may share crash reports and usage information with developers according to your own Apple privacy and analytics settings.

How to delete your data

We can't access or erase your private iCloud data ourselves, but we're happy to walk you through these steps. Email hello@zonecatcher.app to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of any support emails you've sent us.

Your choices

You can use the task list without granting location or notification permission, and change either at any time in iOS Settings. Turning off notifications stops reminder alerts; turning off location stops location-based features from working normally. Notification previews may show reminder titles on your lock screen; you can control previews in iOS notification settings.

When you contact support

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any attachments, and use them only to answer your request (including through our email provider). Please don't send passwords, payment details or private reminder locations. We keep support emails for up to 12 months after your request is resolved, unless a legal obligation or dispute requires longer. We never use support emails for marketing without your separate permission.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to complain to your local data-protection authority. We process support information to answer you and for our legitimate interest in maintaining the app; legal obligations may also apply. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@zonecatcher.app to exercise these rights.

Children

Zone Catcher is a general productivity app and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through support, contact us and we'll deal with it.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page and its effective date when our practices change. Any new kind of data collection, such as optional diagnostics, will come with in-app information and a choice before it's turned on.
